On Monday, May 07, 2007 at 02:28 hours, Lyons Fire Rescue, along with Lyons Town Ambulance was dispatched to a reported 1 car MVA rollover with possible entrapment on Route 14 South. Engine 6 took the assignment along with Assistant Chiefs Darcangelis and Rios.
While responding, the County Fire Dispatcher advised Command that the actual location was North on Route 14 in the area of Champlin Rd, placing it in the Alton Fire District.
Upon the first Officer’s arrival, a pick up truck was found on its side with the driver pinned in the vehicle. After an extensive extrication, patient care was turned over to EMS for transport to an awaiting Mercy Flight air ambulance.
LFD was assisted on location by the Alton Fire Department, Lyons Town Ambulance, the New York State Police and Mercy Flight Central. The assignment went back into service at 03:30 hours.
