On Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at 21:07 hours, the Lyons Fire Department along with Lyons Town Ambulance were dispatched to a reported House Fire at 39 Montezuma Street.
Engine 6 took the assignment under the direction of Car 7-4 and arrived on location with heavy smoke showing from a two story residence. Truck 1 was requested to the scene and a RIT team from Newark was called in. Interior crews were able to bring the fire under control at the 15 minute benchmark and contain the fire to a 2nd floor bedroom. Ventilation and overhaul were completed and the Red Cross was on scene to aid the displaced residents.
The assignment was back in service at 22:51 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
