On Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 15:26 hours, Lyons Fire Rescue, along with Lyons Town Ambulance, was dispatched to a reported car versus pole MVA, with the operator still in the vehicle. Rescue 3 took the assignment, along with Chief Witt and Deputy Chief Darcangelis. Upon Rescue 3’s arrival, a one car MVA was found with confirmed entrapment. Following a short extrication, the patient was removed and turned over to EMS for transport to the local hospital where he was later flown to the region’s trauma center.
LFD was assisted on location by the Lyons Town Ambulance, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and the Lyons Police Department. The assignment went back into service at 15:53 hours.
