On Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 09:45 hours, Lyons Fire was dispatched to a reported fully involved barn fire at 8632 Helch Rd. Engine 7, Engine 3, Attack 3 took the assignment under the direction of Chief Witt, Deputy Chief Paliotti and Assistant Chief’s Darcangelis and Rios.
While responding, Command initially requested a tanker from Marbletown and a fill-in from Newark. Deputy Chief Paliotti reported a working fire, and Command requested additional tankers from Oaks Corners, Fairville and Wallington. The operation was immediately placed into a defensive attack with Chief Witt in Command, Deputy Chief Paliotti and Assistant Chief Darcangelis with Field Operations and Assistant Chief Rios with Water Supply Operations.
LFD was further assisted on location by the Lyons Town Ambulance, Town of Lyons Highway Department and the Wayne Co Sheriff’s Department. The assignment was back in-service at 13:50 hours.
